Fender Blender Mundo

An homage to the original Fender Blender bike blender. You can toss this in one of your Mundo bags, roll to an event, set up your rig, and put your High Performance pitcher to work making blended beverages, sauces, soups, or whatever else you can think of.

The Fender Blender Mundo fits the Mundo V3, V4, and V5 models.

The Mundo and the FBM are a great combination. During the week you commute and do the shopping. On Sunday, you roll to the park and crank out smoothies at the Barbeque. You don’t need tools to set up your bike for blending. This version gives you 2x the volume and power with the High Performance upgrade.

The FBM fits the Mundo V3, V4 and V5 models*. You can blend using the Mundo’s centerstand.  For extra stability and if time allows, take the side loader bars off the Mundo and install our stationary stand. Or, for a faster stable stand, put milk crates under the side loader bars and attaching them with cam straps, –as you can see the in the photos from Yuba above!

*Note: it is necessary to remove or modify the rack deck and rear fender for the blender to mount properly

How Loud is the Blender?

How Loud is the Blender?

2894313556_e14fda6af7_z

We blended ice and water (the loudest thing you can blend) and found the following measurements:

At 2 feet, it peaked at 85db for the first few seconds and fell to 75-80 for the rest of the time.
At 5 ft, it peaked at 77 for the first few seconds and fell to 70-73.
At 7 feet, it peaked at 73 db for the first few seconds and fell to 65-70.
At 10 ft, it peaked at 71.

Db are logarithmic like the Richter scale. 85 is 10 times louder than 75.

You can reduce your noise leak to other booths significantly with some type of barrier like a dividing panel, at ear level.

We can’t say what the noise levels will be when people cheer for each other. Hope this helps!

Props to RTB customer Mark Harris for this fun video demonstrating one fun way to enjoy bike blending.

In his blog, the “Transcendental Art of Bicycle Blender Touring”, Mark documents his travels with the Fender Blender Xtracycle, in which he pulls edible food from the side of the road, adds an ingredient or two (sometimes just water) and blends on the go.

Is My Vitamix Pitcher Compatible with Your Bike Blender Base?

Apr 30, 2014Posted by in Bike Blender Rentals, Electric Fender Blender Pro, FAQ, Fender Blender Bike Blenders from Rock the Bike, Fender Blender Mundo, Fender Blender Pro, Fender Blender Universale, Fender Blender Xtracycle | Comments Off on Is My Vitamix Pitcher Compatible with Your Bike Blender Base?

Is My Vitamix Pitcher Compatible with Your Bike Blender Base?

We have seen the bike blender work with the Vitamix Creations II 48 oz. 12-in-1 Variable Speed Blender’s pitcher, as well as our own Advance Container.

We cannot guarantee every blender pitcher from Vitamix is compatible, but you’re more than welcome to ask Vitamix directly.

We use Vitamix’s sound reduction pad (Vitamix 15579) and Drive Socket (Vitamix 891). If your pitcher is compatible with both those parts it will work!

If you find out yours is compatible please email us your model type/number so we can add it to this FAQ!

Bike Blending: How many crew? How much ingredients? How many bikes?

Bike Blending: How many crew? How much ingredients? How many bikes?

Here’s a copy of a recent receipt from Trader Joe’s for a Bike Blending event that served 100 people.

IMG117

To serve the most people in the least time, here are the factors to consider:

Ingredients. This is the easiest. Ingredients cost $0.60 per 8 oz smoothie. Scale this to meet your crowd needs.

Crewmembers. This helps you prepare the pitchers of ingredients faster. 1 person per bike for a relaxed event (100-200 servings). 3 crewmembers per bike if you think you’ll be slammed (300 – 500 servings).

Number of Fender Blender bikes. Increase the number of bikes to maximize your participation levels when maximum crowd flow is expected. Each bike can do 100- 250 8 oz smoothies per hour, depending on the number of crewmembers.

Type of pitcher: See the Osterizer v. High Performance comparison. It’s easier to serve large crowds with a high performance blender.

Number of pitchers. Two pitchers are incredibly useful. Make double the same amount of time by prepping a second batch while blending the first. If you foresee having vegan/dairy-free smoothies you might want a pitcher just for those.
