• The fiberglass cabinet is extremely strong. Fiberglass is an amazing material for how light and strong it is. On two occasions I’ve seen my Choprical Fish fall on its side, one time off a curb! And it literally just left a scratch. This cabinet is designed for all types of terrain, from a smooth concrete boardwalk, to the fireroads leading to your secret eco-party. It can survive being dropped, though why would you want to? It’s so cute.
• Beautiful lighting mods will abound. We’ve only scratched the surface with what can be done on the lighting front. You can either choose to customize it yourself, or let us take a stab for you.
• Internal shelf allows you to place an amp, rechargeable battery, or other electronics like a wireless microphone. This will be a removeable slat that you can essentially pull out of the cabinet when you need to change or troubleshoot something.

I got the idea to make the Mothership last year after I had completed the Choprical Fish. I was jazzed about what can be done with fiberglass, but scared about how long it seems to take each time I take on a new project. I wanted to be able to turn out an attractive fiberglass cabinet for a customer without having to turn my life upside-down. And I wanted it to be easy enough I can train someone to do it in a day.

The In-The-Pocket Head Unit is the brains and brawn of your cruising experience. Inside this small, handcrafted, dovetail joined wooden box is a 30 watt digital amplifier and a rechargeable battery good for 5-10 hours of cruising.

The Soul Cycle makes it so easy to go cruising, you can literally be out doing it the first night you receive your order. From the moment you get the inspiration to cruise, you can have your speakers and the head unit set up in five minutes or less. The Soul Cycle Head Unit mounts positively to your handlebars using the German-engineered KlickFix system. It’s a one-button release, so when it’s time to roll into a restaurant, you can take the head unit with you. Similarly the output cord on the head unit uses a twist-lock connector, making it easy to attach and undo.

30 watts may not sound like a lot when compared to 1000-watt Car Audio subwoofer amplifiers. But that’s the great thing about bicycle audio. On a bike there’s no engine noise to compete with, and the wind noise is also greatly reduced. Another thing to keep in mind when comparing wattage numbers is that audio power is measured exponentially, so a 1000-watt amplifier only plays music about 2.5 times louder than a 30-watt amp. In practice, the Soul Cycle Head Unit is big enough to deliver a satisfying bass thump on dance music, and get 5 or 10 of your friends singing along to David Bowie, Aretha, Pavorotti, or whatever music you like to cruise to.

This Head Unit has no speakers and therefore doesn’t make any sound on it’s own. It contains an amplifier and a built-in rechargeable battery. You simply pair the Head Unit with household or car audio speakers of any size, from bookshelf speakers to tall party speakers. • Comes with the 8-way Neutrik quick-release electrical connector. Road tested strain relief and wire management! This means you can separate the Head Unit from your wiring harness with a single twist-lock move.
• The top surface of the Head Unit is a removable plate of polycarbonate. Drill it, cut it, customize it, then attach it with four screws. If you make a bad mistake, throw it out and start again without sacrificing the whole head unit.
• Can be reused for new projects. You might have a great time with your Human Power bike at indoor events in the wintertime, then want to create a Soul Cycle to lead social rides in the summertime. The Head Unit can be rewired and repurposed.
• Optional Rock the Bike build configurations include a 4-channel mixer — helps you rap or make presentions. Wire micophone jack into the top panel. You’ll get the effect of “plugging in to the bike.”
